Your patio drops 30 degrees cooler in summer. You’re not squinting through glare or watching your furniture fade under Texas sun. The bugs stay out, and you stay comfortable.
Outdoor roller shades aren’t decorative. They’re functional. When installed right, they block up to 99% of UV rays and cut your cooling costs because your home isn’t absorbing all that heat through the windows. You get privacy without losing your view—tinted shades let you see out, but neighbors can’t see in.
And when the temperature’s right, you roll them up. When it’s not, you bring them down. It’s that straightforward. You’re not rearranging plans around the sun anymore. You’re using the space you already have, just more often.
We’ve been serving Galindo and the surrounding Tarrant County area with a straightforward approach: measure right, install right, and use products that hold up in Texas heat. We’re not new to this. We’ve spent over a decade in construction and window coverings, so we know what works and what doesn’t.
We run a showroom in Arlington where you can see samples, ask questions, and get a real sense of what you’re buying before you commit. We’re local, and we’re here after the install if something comes up. That matters more than most people realize until they need it.
We start with a free consultation at your place in Galindo. We measure your patio, porch, or pergola, talk through what you’re trying to solve—heat, bugs, privacy, all of it—and show you samples so you know exactly what you’re getting. No pressure, just information.
Once you pick your outdoor roller shades, we order them custom to your measurements. Most of our shades are Texas-made, which means faster turnaround and better quality control. When they’re ready, our install team comes out and gets them mounted. We’re talking precise brackets, level rails, smooth operation—whether you go manual or motorized.
After install, we walk you through how to use them and make sure everything works the way it should. If you go motorized, we’ll show you the controls. If it’s manual, we make sure the pull is easy and the shade rolls clean every time. Then we’re done, and you’ve got a patio that actually works for you.
Ready to get started?
Our exterior roller shades are waterproof, UV-resistant, and built to handle the kind of weather Galindo sees—blazing summers, surprise storms, and everything in between. You’re choosing from materials that resist mold, mildew, and fading. These aren’t indoor shades we’re trying to use outside. They’re engineered for exterior use.
You pick the fabric based on how much light and heat you want to block. Some people want full blackout roller shades for total coverage. Others want solar shades that cut glare but still let some light through. We’ll show you the difference so you’re not guessing.
Motorization is an option if you want it. Press a button, and the shades go up or down. No crank, no pulling. It’s convenient, especially if you’ve got large openings or multiple shades. But manual works just fine too, and it’s a fraction of the cost. We’re not going to upsell you on features you don’t need. We’re going to show you what’s available and let you decide what makes sense for your space and your budget.
Exterior roller shades can drop your patio temperature by up to 30 degrees in the summer. That’s not a marketing line—it’s what happens when you block the sun before it hits your windows and outdoor space. The shade fabric absorbs or reflects heat outside your home instead of letting it radiate through glass and into your living areas.
In Galindo, where summer temps regularly hit the high 90s, that difference is noticeable. You’re not retreating indoors by noon because it’s unbearable outside. Your AC isn’t working overtime to cool down a sun-drenched room. And if you’ve got furniture or rugs on your patio, they’re not baking under direct UV all day.
The level of heat reduction depends on the fabric you choose. Darker, tighter weaves block more heat but also more light. Lighter, more open weaves let some light through but still cut a significant amount of heat. We’ll walk you through the options so you know what trade-offs you’re making.
Manual shades use a crank or pull cord. You walk over, give it a few turns or pulls, and the shade goes up or down. They’re reliable, simple, and cost about a tenth of what motorized systems run. If you’ve got one or two shades and they’re easy to reach, manual is a solid choice.
Motorized shades run on a motor controlled by a remote, wall switch, or smartphone app. You press a button, and they move. No effort, no walking over. If you’ve got large shades, multiple shades, or hard-to-reach installations, motorized makes life easier. Some systems even integrate with smart home setups so you can schedule them or control them when you’re not home.
The trade-off is cost and complexity. Motorized systems need power—either hardwired or battery-operated—and they have more parts that can eventually need service. But they’re also more convenient, especially if you’re using your shades multiple times a day. We install both, and honestly, it comes down to how much convenience matters to you versus what you want to spend.
If they’re installed correctly and you bring them up when severe weather hits, yes. Our exterior roller shades are built with waterproof, weather-resistant fabrics that handle rain, humidity, and sun without breaking down. The hardware is corrosion-resistant, and the mounting systems are engineered to stay secure in normal wind conditions.
That said, Texas storms can bring serious wind gusts. If you know a storm’s coming, roll the shades up. Leaving them down in high wind puts stress on the fabric and the mounting brackets that they’re not designed to handle long-term. It’s the same reason you’d bring in patio cushions or close an umbrella—it’s just smart maintenance.
We make sure everything is mounted into solid structure during installation. If your patio has weak points or areas that need reinforcement, we’ll tell you up front. The goal is an install that lasts years, not one that looks good for a season and then starts sagging or pulling away.
Depends on the fabric. Solar shades and some tinted outdoor shade blinds let you see out while blocking the view in. You get your privacy without feeling like you’re sitting in a cave. The tighter the weave, the less visibility you’ll have, but also the more heat and light you block.
If you want full privacy and total light control, blackout roller shades are the way to go. You won’t see out, but nobody’s seeing in either, and you’re blocking nearly all light and heat. That’s ideal for spaces where you want complete coverage—like a porch you’re turning into a sleeping area or a patio where you want total shade during the hottest part of the day.
We bring samples to your consultation so you can hold them up, look through them, and see exactly what you’re getting. It’s a lot easier to make a decision when you’re not just reading descriptions online. You’ll know whether you’re comfortable with the visibility trade-off before we order anything.
From consultation to install, you’re usually looking at two to four weeks. We come out, measure, and show you options. Once you decide, we order your custom outdoor roller shades. Most of our products are made in Texas, so lead times are shorter than if we were shipping from across the country.
When the shades arrive, we schedule your install. For most patios, the actual installation takes a few hours. Larger or more complex setups—like multiple shades or motorized systems—might take a full day. We’re not rushing it. We’re making sure the brackets are level, the shades operate smoothly, and everything’s dialed in before we leave.
If you’ve got a specific deadline—like you’re hosting an event or finishing a remodel—let us know during the consultation. We’ll do what we can to prioritize your timeline. But in general, plan for about a month from start to finish so you’re not caught off guard.
Absolutely. One of the biggest reasons people in Galindo add outdoor roller shades is to keep bugs out. When the shades are down, they create a barrier that blocks flies, mosquitoes, wasps, and anything else trying to crash your patio time. You’re not swatting at bugs or cutting your evening short because the gnats showed up.
This is especially helpful if your patio or porch has open sides. Without shades, you’re just sitting in the open air hoping bugs leave you alone. With shades, you’ve got a physical barrier that keeps them out while still letting air flow through—depending on the fabric you choose.
Birds are another issue people don’t think about until it’s a problem. If you’ve got a covered porch, birds love to nest in the corners or fly through looking for food. Outdoor roller shades close off those entry points. You’re not dealing with droppings, nests, or birds dive-bombing your space. It’s a simple fix that makes a noticeable difference in how much you actually enjoy being outside.
